Presentation Evening 2008/09 Seasons

Lads well done at the awards, we believe that the right decisions were made, with regards to who got the trophies and we know that all of you will be back this season and trying to perform to the best that you can.

We wish Ben, Jake and Tom all the best with their new clubs.

if you didn’t get a programme last night this is what we said -

Cranfield Colts Under 11’s

Coaches – Chris Hyde / Dave Rae

We would like to say a big thank you to all the players for your commitment and enthusiasm throughout this season, which saw two teams merge into one. The matches have been both exciting and frustrating to watch as you know, with only a simple set back or window of opportunity allowing the opposition to score. But the strength you have shown in fighting back has been brilliant.

Some of you played for the under 12’s this season as they lost players early season. You raised your game and had to learn the offside rule and how to deal with extra players on the pitch earlier than the others within the under 11’s. From the feedback we have had you played really well, this shows great maturity as we move towards 11 v 11 next season. This will put us in a very strong position over other teams.

We came 6th out of 9 in Division 2 and managed to get through to the quarter finals of the shield losing on penalties. In total we scored 86 goals and conceded 64. This goes to show how our season mirrored what was happening in the premiership. Your coaches (who hold a master plan) and parents are all proud of all your efforts in the under 11’s.

Well done guys.

Players reports =

Carl Batchelor -

Carl our Mr Motivator… You have had a good season this year and we know that the change to 11 a side will help you. You have the ability to affect the game from behind and do everything we ask as coaches. You are always communicating with your team mates trying to organise them. You have had a good season well done.

Sam Holland –

Sam, you have played only a few games this season and we are proud of the work you have done for us, you have stuck it out to the end and given us everything thing you have. As coaches we can not ask for more, Well done.

Courtney Gresty –

Courtney,  your enthusiasm has been good along with your dedication to keep going, you have like a lot of the others played in different positions for us and we thank you for your patience. You have scored a few goals along the way and managed to surprise us at the tournament when you had a go in goal. Well done

Simon Green –

‘Stato’ you have continued to perform for us, the work rate required at 9 v 9 could be tough at times and you have shown us that you fully understand the role of a defender, It will be interesting to see how you develop at 11 v 11. You have also shown us the attacker within you, as you make your runs down the wing. You have had a good season.  Well done.

Lewis Jobbling –

Duracell you are still involved in more sports than your coaches would like to mention and the list is growing. You continue to run for ever turning up in all areas on the pitch and making that all important tackle or cross or even scoring that goal we need.  We have played you in a few different positions and you have risen to the challenge. Well done.

Rhys Parkin –

Rhys, you are continuing to develop and improve as the season progresses. It was good to see you score 2 good gaols against your friends from Woburn in a cup game that saw us win 9 -2.  The new season will bring lots more challenges and we know you will be raising your game to meet them head on. Well done.

Daniel Rae -

Dan. You have been off and on the pitch this season allowing others to play, this has shown great maturity and we thank you for doing so. We have asked you to play up front this season and you have scored some great goals. Your confidence continues to grow and your speed on the pitch has shown us that you have the ability to read the game and get ahead drawing players out or chasing up the ball, providing windows of opportunity for us. Well done.

Tom Wolford -

Ted…when we think back a couple of seasons you have improved from the player we first saw and worked with. You have developed and grown, showing us that you have the potential to become a good team player. You have scored some goals this season and as a result your confidence has grown too. Well done

Jake Marshall -

Jake, you have been one of many who has played in defence for us this season and you’ve raised your game when asked.  You continue to improve and when you have had a good practice session we see the benefits on the pitch. Next season will see more defenders in the back and we look forward to seeing you raise your game. keep up the good work. Well done.

Max Marsh -

Max you have been a great team player this season and shown us that you have a great understanding of the game. You continue to improve and amaze as you take on defenders and the keeper. When on form you link up with team mates and deliver some inch perfect passes. You too have scored or created many a goal this season, as well as made that all important tackle and turned defence into attack. well done.

Michael Rawlins -

Mikey as always has a great attitude to his football and is unselfish for the good of his team. You have played in most positions and always given us your best. Your understanding of the game is brilliant so much so that you even tell the refs at home matches what to do (well they are family). Next season could be expensive though if you continue to give advice… well done.

Macauley Smith -

Macauley you have developed so much over the last few months, showing great strength with an improved confidence, as a result you have even started giving the coaches stick. It is pleasing to hear that you enjoy training and are learning things…. As coaches we love that so keep up the good work, well done.

Ben Thompson -

Ben, A good year for you scoring some great goals, a lot of which were with your head.  You continue to display a great thirst for the game and willingness to learn. You have a talent that allows you to control the hardest of passes even in the air. This coming season will see you continue to mature and grow as a player, your time in the under 12’s has shown this already. Well done

Harry Weir-

H - our rock at the back.. a mature, strong and imposing defender who was given the role of captain this season. You are a great ambassador to Charlie and his family. You have been a good captain this year and shown your leadership and an ability to quickly turn defence into attack. The game will be quicker when we get to 11 aside and your time with the under 12’s earlier will help you. well done.

Leon Knaggs –

Leon, you have played a few games this season for us, when not on the golf course, and when you have been about you have scored some outstanding goals through corners taken by yourself. Your growing strengths and understanding of the game have seen you play some good football. Well done.

Parents – Refs

We would also like to say thank you to the parents and our Rawlins refs as well as Mr Jobbling, thanks for helping us out throughout the season. We couldn’t actually do it without you…
