Match Reports
A 3-1 win against Sandy Colts on Saturday 1st Dec send Cranfield top of the league by 2 points and extends there un beaten run to 5 games. The team were without two players due to illness and Emma Flynn retuned in goal after suffering an arm injury, the game started slowly but some persistent work from Hannah Field led to the first goal, Hannah chased down a seemingly lost cause causing confusion in the Sandy defence to slot home from close range Centre forward Chloe Pugh then pounced on a loose clearance to fire home from the edge of the box to give the girls a 2-0 need at the break, some sloppy defending from a long hopeful Sandy clearance allowed Sandy back into the game but after several chances to wrap up the game went begging, Chloe again latched onto a long ball to strike a ball against the post but she was first to re act to the rebound to make game safe. All the squad deserve a big pat on the back as the improvement is plain to see they also now have a winning mentality and refuse to be beaten. It is also pleasing that the 3 girls Georgia Course, Dani Lay and Dani Course have all stepped up an age group and are not only holding there own but are adding to the whole team. Also Antoinia has joined us this season and is proving to be a superb defender along side Alice (our player of the year last season). Well done girls.
